Christmas Fabric

Ok...so I bought this material back in June not knowing what I was going to do with it, but it was too pretty to just leave at the quilt store...so I held on to it for a while and then came across a pattern about a month or so ago. I started cutting the fabric last weekend and have been doing some piecing here and there this week. Well I finally have my rows together and hope to have it finished this weekend. I don't remember what material this is, but when I go to purchase my backing this weekend I will definitely find out. When I started quilting I decided I wasn't going to have more than one project going at a time and so far I've been pretty good about that...however, I really need to be more focused on not buying too much fabric ahead! It didn't help that my local quilt store went out of business last month and was selling their fabric for 50% off! Hope everyone has a great Friday :O)

I do understand the rule about projects. Mine was no more than three at one time: I like to have choices when I want to do something. However, since retirement I have increased that to 4-5. This allows me to piece, design, applique, quilt, or embellish depending on my mood. Welcoome to the wonderful world of quilting.

A big stash is a must! :) Having extra fabric is inspirational. And sometimes there are deals you just can not pass up!

Welcome to "blogland" Lisa. I`ve only been a blogger for a few months myself, but it`s a lot of fun. Some days I stay by the computer too long reading other blogs, when I really should be doing something else.

Hi Lisa! Welcome to blogworld from another fairly new blogger - I started in Sept and am having a blast! My husband and I both rode BMW's up until a few years ago - aches and pains and age-related things led us to sell them and concentrate more on fly fishing! Also, when I began quilting many years ago I had to same goal of only doing one thing at a time - somewhere things got our of hand LOL! Look forward to your posts. Cheers!

Everyone needs a stash,,but as always there is never the right fabric in the stash, so we buy some more...
I too started just doing one thing at a time,,, but see a new quilt design it's hard to not start something new..

I started out doing one project at a time, and now I have so many I don't know what to do with myself! haha As for fabric, it is too hard to not buy ahead, so I say go and buy as much as you want! Fabric is so fun, anyway! :)

Love the fabrics you purchased, and can't wait to see the quilt.

Hi Lisa, Just giving you a big welcome. I just come from Pegs blog and just love the look of yours and your beautiful quilts. They are so yummy that I would just love to wrap myself up in them. I'm relatively new myself and am now well and truly hooked. Welcome again. D. :=)
