Christmas Stocking Blocks

I can't believe Wednesday is already over! This week has flown! I haven't done a whole lot of sewing. On Sunday I did some stocking blocks for my SIL ... they will be a table runner ... i would show pics, however, she reads this and thus will see her gift :O) She knows she's getting it, just hasn't seen it all together.

So here's a pic of some Christmas fabric i bought last year. I have a total of 7 1/2 yards of it ... I am having the hardest time figuring out what pattern to make a Christmas throw in ... I would LOVE some pattern suggestions! Here is a pic of a few more stocking blocks i did last night out of some leftover Christmas fabric that is flowery and i'm not sure i'm diggin the green floral background with the red floral stocking ... i think i need to replace it with solid green ... the stocking sorta gets lost ... what do you think? Think it's too busy? Turning over a new leaf ... I've decided from now on my house WILL be clean before i start sewing...if it ain't clean, i ain't sewing! Hopefully that will make me dust a little more ... UGH I hate dusting.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Oh, you are a Good Girl tinking about Christmas already ... I must admit it has crossed my mind, not nice that feeling of panic at the last moment!

I think I'd change the green fabric, I agree with you the stocking gets lost. Such pretty Christmas fabrics. Lots of choices for patterns. There's some great free patterns on the fabric manufacturers sites, with simple yet eye catching designs.

Oh girl I have Christmas on the brain too...yesterday I started a quilt for my Momma's present.

I love the fabric on your stocking blocks, but I see what ya mean about the stockings getting lost. I like to pair a floral-y type fabric up with a solid or textured type print, so you really focus on that gorgeous floral. I can't wait to see what you do with them! :)
