German Chocolate Cake...YUM

THIS..... PLUS THIS....
EQUALS THIS....
ADDED TO A GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE EQUALS THIS....
YUM-O! I'm not a fan of coconut, but i LOVE this german chocolate frosting. It is a home-made recipe from my MIL and it is wonderful!

German Chocolate Frosting

1 cup evaporated milk

1 cup granulated sugar

3 egg yolks

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

Stir on medium heat until thickened...about 12 minutes

Add 1 1/2 to 2 cups Angel Flake Coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

Mix well and let cool for about 10 minutes and then frost cake

Oh, I love German Chocolate cake too! My recipe is very similar only I lightly toast the pecans first.

do you just bake the chocolate cake per box instructions...then add this recipe for the icing when it's cooled???

my momma's fav cake is german chocolate.
