One thing he loved was flying...he had his own plane and luved taking us up in it.<div><br></div><div>After he died I told my aunt that I would make a quilt for her out of uncle Walt's shirts and pants if she would like ... so here is a picture of the quilt. I decided to paper piece an airplane to put in the center of the quilt ... after the quilt was laid out and put together it was so ironic that if you look at the plane it looks like it is in the middle of the letter "W". I'm sure uncle Walt would love it too!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4omMpGRRUHydzc4XAQYUaPIGst3kuLVImgmxA9PnliRAeqwuGXaWpA-5I1OAIZuUawG_Ip4E2CcyEGHQ2DuO5cuLEdXAMFvZS-Iug0QfNSZYS7kkGgITAOjF0V52xnMPNV85aAVnB-R9d/s640/blogger-image--1665064208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4omMpGRRUHydzc4XAQYUaPIGst3kuLVImgmxA9PnliRAeqwuGXaWpA-5I1OAIZuUawG_Ip4E2CcyEGHQ2DuO5cuLEdXAMFvZS-Iug0QfNSZYS7kkGgITAOjF0V52xnMPNV85aAVnB-R9d/s640/blogger-image--1665064208.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246367644541313047noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2010079859845173673.post-76804375267099850982014-03-16T15:49:00.001-04:002014-03-16T15:53:35.765-04:00Luvin Applique!OH MY! Well, yesterday I took an applique class and I luved it! Came home last evening from dinner and appliqued my eggs. It was a pretty simple project, but I so can't wait to get started on bigger projects. I am heading to <a href="http://countryfabrics.net/index.html">Country Fabrics</a> this week for their sale. It is an awesome shop in Shiloh, Ohio where they still sell quilt fabric for $8 and $9 a yard...and I have three applique projects that I will be purchasing fabric for =)<br>

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by those you luv :O)<br />
<br />
Well, it's been a bit since I've blogged and it will be a bit longer. Hubby and I purchased a new home (new to us) last month and we are knee deep in painting, cleaning, getting ready to gut the bathroom and still need to decide what we are going to do with the kitchen.<br />
<br />
I hope to be back to blogging and quilting early spring because i sincerely miss it.<br />
<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
An hour later I got up, called my brother to wish him a happy birthday and ended up driving down to see him and his family and go to lunch...then my sis-in-law and i did some shopping ... we found a cute pattern called Cloud Nine and the fabric line Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater ... so here is what I bought...half yard cuts of these great fabrics...</div>

So, today it was rainy, cool, breezy and the perfect day to put binding on...here she is all bound, washed and ready to be used...i think this quilt is my favorite!<br />

All i can is i have REALLY missed sewing! I'm not sure where the time has gone, but I'm definitely going to make a better effort at making more quilts once again! Here is the quilt that i finished today...i spent 4 hours squaring up the blocks, putting the top together, cutting and making the borders and getting them attached ... this is done in my Kansas Troubles scraps and i luv it!<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This week i hope to get the backing for it in flannel...the front is cotton but i think i'm going to put flannel on the back ... i've never done it before, so if you have, please let me know if that is ok to do or if i should stick with cotton.<br>
<br>
<br>
Hope everyone has a GREAT week and I have my next quilt project out and ready to get cutting, so hopefully i'll have more posts in the near future :o)<br>
<br>
P.S. My sister-in-law is also in the process of getting fabric for me to make her King size quilt, so that will be worked on in the near future too...<br>

Well i finally finished my Carnival quilt and i think it is so adorable ... i just luv the colors ... the pattern is Carnival by Julie Herman of <a href="http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/">Jaybird Quilts </a>and was actually easier to make than i thought...using the ruler to cut the fabric scared me at first, but it was a breeze! It's done in Central Park by Kate Spain ... isn't she just sweet :O)</div><div> </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA0Vluq_Hl6wZ3wjstcr3FOxWVpst_nt2DZ4kqkZ1weLks_onbTdmSMPhqSDdjRbnHlcicDwVS7PILShB6n1T9POeuXFmmVbJ8ICBLe9bRyL8acna4sZuMQtadVDkwfvJ1TH7C9VkTCy1y/s1600/photo.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 299px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692128429957310434" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA0Vluq_Hl6wZ3wjstcr3FOxWVpst_nt2DZ4kqkZ1weLks_onbTdmSMPhqSDdjRbnHlcicDwVS7PILShB6n1T9POeuXFmmVbJ8ICBLe9bRyL8acna4sZuMQtadVDkwfvJ1TH7C9VkTCy1y/s400/photo.JPG" /></a>Hope you have a wonderful and safe New Year !!!!<div> </div><div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0px currentColor !important;" border="0" src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/85739/lisaburns/0e3aa84262196adb9b01f5e4ec479fa8.png" /></a></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12246367644541313047noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2010079859845173673.post-32207975021136512302011-12-22T16:58:00.004-05:002011-12-22T17:04:48.915-05:00MERRY CHRISTMASThis Hunk of Hottness and I want to wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! My Aunt Sally had my name and she was saying how pleasant Joyce was to work with and what a nice lady she is ... so if you ever get the chance ... be sure to stop in and say hi to Joyce ... i'm sure you will leave with a bag full of goodies like we tend to do!!! Here is the link to her shop ... <a href="http://www.jellenshouseoffabric.com/">http://www.jellenshouseoffabric.com/</a><p>And this fabulous fabric my cousin picked up for me back in July at JEllen's sale ... it was 50% off ... my kinda sale :O) It is Charlevoix by Minick & Simpson.

For some reason I've always stayed away from quilts that have 'panels' ... now i know why ... they aren't always the straightest items to work with...but, i did manage to get the 3 strips of panels pretty straight, so i'm happy with the quilt. <p>The pattern and fabric line is called "<a href="http://www.henryglassfabrics.com/project/i-love-snow-shelly-comiskey/?section=new-free-projects">I Love Snow</a>" by Shelly Comiskey for Henry Glass. It's the first flannel quilt i have made and it will be great to use this winter.</p></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj3EekQrbgclCFENM2P7FtE81PPA_GrxxHjrpLDttf2nEehcmsrXKPuALpyqGp8o8NLHSw5XNXcmMtrrxiCOZnkkBIXWlV1jpegro6_qq7Y_1IFXf1i7WG1UhaW2bG1tGKbgPFgQcF3Gic/s1600/photo+%25282%2529.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 239px; height: 320px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5678154597979811682" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj3EekQrbgclCFENM2P7FtE81PPA_GrxxHjrpLDttf2nEehcmsrXKPuALpyqGp8o8NLHSw5XNXcmMtrrxiCOZnkkBIXWlV1jpegro6_qq7Y_1IFXf1i7WG1UhaW2bG1tGKbgPFgQcF3Gic/s320/photo+%25282%2529.JPG" /></a>Here is a close-ups of it ... sorry i couldn't get the picture to rotate.
